The Rise of Wet Cleaning

Louise Simons, marketing manager at AGS Detergents says, "the rise of wet cleaning in our industry just continues to prove to be a massive success" and that "wet cleaning continues to impress as dry cleaners compliment their existing operation, while many start ups consider it as the only option."
Of course, there is no doubt that environmental concerns about chemical solvents and consumer choices driven by campaigns will continue to have a big say in the progression of wet as a cleaning process.
Indeed, Simons considers wet cleaning as "revolutionary and a complete change from our old dry cleaning system." She says that "operators do no like change with the traditional method still producing excellent results; however dry cleaners need to address the health of not only themselves but their staff as this could be affected with exposure to some dry cleaning chemicals." Beyond this, Simons says that laundries need to work out how much it costs them to dry clean as opposed to wet clean. And then there's the matter of wet being green - "and this should be one of the key selling points."
Of course, investing in wet cleaning equipment needs careful consideration to decide what will best suit a laundry's needs. Here Simons reckons that the Electrolux Professional lagoon Advanced Care system "ticks all the boxes with a washer that will not only wet clean but can be used as a normal washer too."
She says that "Electrolux Professional's wet cleaning system knows how to take care of the most delicate fibres such as wools and silks, as well as cotton, linen, viscose using tailor made programmes." She continues: "The system is fast, easy and green and regardless of the fabric, the Electrolux Professional wet cleaning system provides customers a stress-free operation and a rapid return on investment."
A bonus, for Simons, is that with "perfect and fast results every time" Electrolux's LAC system offers dry to dry in an hour. Further, she says that using smart detergents and a dryer, garments can be dried without the need for hang drying - "garments are finished to perfection with no wrinkles in sight."
It helps too that Simons says that given the range and size of equipment produced by Electrolux Professional, laundries can process between 70 and 400 articles per day.
It's important for Simons to be able to say that AGS can "assist all of our customers from the begining until the end of their project ensuring that all needs are met. Once they are up and running, we are always on hand to offer support and advice as and when necessary."
And to assist AGS's wet cleaning customers, Simons says that the company offers its own wet cleaning detergents "which are extremely reasonably priced and provide excellent cleaning results."
In finishing, Simons says that 2025 will see more wet cleaning outlets appearing especially as retirement looms for those that are dry clean only. And in terms of technological advances, she comments that "Electrolux Professional never sleeps - it is constantly researching and developing, making wet cleaning systems the best they can be...they are the very best that any outlet can have."
